    Tortise in the news
ok i woke up this morning to check on reeses(oh yeah i got the infrared light bulb yesterday) and he is really light. like his colors are really faded so i figured this is a sign of shed coming. but his eyes only seem a lil cloudy not like in the pics when they look like seriously blue so should i be worried. i will get a pic up in a bout 20 minutes because once again baby sitting my lil bro. oh yeah he says hi rex lol. :D

as u can see his color has faded and also that reeses is kind of a chunky baby. now he is faded bit no cloudy eyes. can anyone estimate how long before he finally goes into the blue? sorry to be a pain i just want his first shed with me to be successful.

You can edit your posts to add pictures by clicking the "edit" button next to the quote and arrow on the upper left corner. ;)
You might want to try to increase the sharpness on your camera because it's really difficult to see many details with the focus setting that it's on now. Just keep your humidity up and remember that the first shed is usually indicative of the previous caretaker's husbandry, not yours.

    Everything setup
oh man this is cool. this morning i woke up and did the usual trhing with reeses(move the water bowl, change the water, move him out of the way, and sitting the water bowl down.) but this time i got a very pleasing surprise..........he has cloudy eyes, they look alot cooler than corns cloudy eyes and it surprised me so much. so i raised the humididty to 82% because i really want him to have a good shed. i will post some pics in a lil while. wish me and reeses luck! :) :) :) :aww:

looks like you've got maybe a week to go there before he sheds give or take a few days. i'm sure he'll do just fine. :D

i would try to leave him alone a bit when he's real close to shedding. it's sort of a stressful time for them as they can't see very well and will feel a little uneasy about alot of handling.
