interesting shed

I caught my bp in the middle of a shed today which I had to assist with water and a wash cloth. After he was done I noticed in his shed skin 2 perfect replicas of his face with eyes, nostrils and his color schemes. It was really cool but I found it odd that there were 2 ? Is that normal, do they shed 2 layers?

He may have had a retained shed on his head that you didn't notice that came off when he shedded again. I'm going to bet that his next shed you'll see only one layer. :) Perfectly normal if it was a retained shed and I wouldn't worry about it. Glad he had a good shed, make sure to keep your humidity up next time and you shouldn't even have to assist!
