Corn Snake Breeding Questions
I have a feeling this is going to sound dumb but here it goes. I was wondering if it would be possible to keep a small harem of corn snakes together, in a large vivarium, and expect breeding after brumation? Would the male need to be separated during brumation? Would a breeding pair be better than a harem? Is this a ridiculous idea lol?
p.s. I am aware of the requirements and effects of keeping snakes together. Feeding seperately, quarantine, lots of space and hides have all been taken into consideration
Re: Corn Snake Breeding Questions
A male housed with a female, or females, can harass them due to his desire to breed. The stress of that affects the health of the female. Because of the potential need to separate at any time requiring you to keep enough tanks on hand to individually house them anyway, you might as well just keep them separate.
