    I guess that's a "no"!
The most unusual thing happened last night... I had to just stop and laugh!

My young male ball python, Beau, had been in shed for nearly 3 weeks. He finally shed two days ago (and subsequently refused to eat... but I digress). Last night I put my hand in while he was resting to see if he'd some out, and he obviously didn't want to as he stayed motionless. So I decided to pet him like I normally do to let him know I'm there. He sat for a minute, and then BUMP.

I thought, did he just do what I think he did?
So I started softly petting him again. BUMP! He bumped my hand away. He actually bumped my hand away! I called my partner over to watch, and again BUMP.
You know when you touch someone's shoulder or arm, and they are having none of it - perhaps they're angry with you, or don't want to be touched - and they bump you away? That is exactly what Beau did. It looked like a pulse or jump right in the exact section of his body I was touching.

Has anyone else experienced this?? Too funny!! I still can't believe it. It just seems like such a non-animal thing to do. I'm sure other animals do it though, I just have never seen them.

    :P

Mine will do that if I try to handle when he is getting close to a shed or just wants to be left alone. I figure the pushing is a warning just like hissing .

Definitely a possibility! But I hadn't handled him in almost 3 weeks... :( longest ever. But still too funny!

He doesn't hiss these days. He's only done that a couple times, and it was just so cute and soft. So I don't doubt it was like an "I'm not in the mood. Not right now, please."

Mine reminds me of a cat when you pet them. I never thought that he didn't like it though? hmmm??

Ya its called a coil pop. Happens with retics all the time. When the big adult females do it they can send you across the room lol.

Oh, really? Huh! Well he was stretched out, and not coiled :P but maybe the name is misleading. I can't seem to find any videos of this anywhere. Thank you though.
