Could he or she be sterile?
I have had these snakes breeding since December 1st (m. Black pastel and f. Pastel), and they've locked up probably 15 times (on 6 occasions or so; records aren't near me). I feel like she isn't even building; although, maybe that's because I see her everyday. I have a video of her on my Facebook page, and she's as wide as the width of my hand if that means anything. Has anyone heard of normal morphs being sterile? I assume so, it she would at least produce slugs as a result of feeding, breeding, and dropped temps. Maybe I'm too anxious. Renick said his season was going slow too. Thank you all as always

Just because you pair them up and see locks does not mean you will get eggs. Doesn't necessarily mean one or both are sterile either. If you've been pairing them up since December and have had no luck, I'd just get them back on feed (if they're not already) and plan to pair them up again at the end of this year. Them's the breaks...:D

I've been pairing since early November and didn't actually notice building until about a month ago, and she ovulated today. You'll learn that if you're not patient, breeding is gonna be a bad time for you :P

Just wait it out, keep feeding. Throw the male it once a month still if you want. If she goes this year then good! if not then try again next year :)

I've been pairing since October and I don't have a single ovulation yet. Just keep at it. Give it a few more months. Last year I had a girl that I started pairing in January. She waited until the very end of June to ovulate. Don't lose hope yet.

Thank you everyone! They're still eating, so I will just continue to pair them

lots of patience needed, just keep pairing them once every 3 or 4 weeks, after that its down to your snakes. best of ck with them.

Not sure if this helps or not, but my first ball python was a normal female. I started pairing her with a normal male when she was 4 years old (over 1800g). No eggs that year and no eggs the year after either. I didnt get so much as a follicle until she was 8 years old when she laid 9 pearly whites. During the 5 seasons where she was paired she was healthy, in great condition and locked with multiple males. I guess she just wanted to make me wait.

Been in this boat my self, It took me 4 season ( or more ) to get eggs from my het axanthic. I now waiting another 3-4 weeks for them to hatch and see if the ivory was the daddy or the het axanthic I been using the for 4 seasons.

Same here, our 08 Normal female gave us finally 7 healthy eggs this season, and she was paired last 3 seasons with no luck :/. But finally we know everything is fine, she just needed more time I guess :).

In this case, where there has been years of the same pair put together yielding nothing, and then put the female with a different male and you get eggs, then I'd begin to wonder if the het axanthic male is sterile (or a female? have you seen locks or hemipenes on this guy?).

In the OP's case, I'd say more patience is needed. They don't always go when you want them to. I haven't even done any breeding yet, but I've learned this from seeing similar posts on the forum year after year after year.
