We just got back from the Tucson Herp Society Reptile show. They've moved it this year to the Rodeway Inn at Grant Road and Interstate 10, which is a much larger and better venue than they used last year. It's a good thing, too, because not only are there more vendors this year than last year, it looked like they were attracting much larger crowds.

My wife picked up another juvenile Beardie, this one sporting some very nice red coloration. She's a Sandfire cross, and we received a lot of compliments on her as we wandered the show.

I picked up a juvenile African House Snake, still rather young and only about 8 to 10 inches long. Kind of cool looking, and from what I'm reading so far, a neat snake to add to the collection.

I ran into a guy I went to High School with at the show. He's out from California promoting and selling a new substrate product made from coconut husk. We picked up a 20 gallon bag of it to try out, so I'll make some reports as I see how it works out. If what he was saying about it is true, it'll be great for the ball pythons especially.

We're going to head out pretty quick and grab some lunch, and then head to one of our local shops which is running a special this weekend on a 20L terrarium for $25. That's perfect for the rescued Ball Python I picked up a couple of weeks ago.

If you're in the Southern Arizona area and interested in a good show, I recommend this one!

Thanks for the info! Glad you had a good time at the show, and I look forward to hearing more about the Afhouse in particular.
