help! my ball python is acting unusually skiddish!
I have had my girl for about 3 weeks now and she is about 1 year old. I have fed her 3 times, cleaned out her home and got her set up with all the essentials. Well I just bought a rock cave hide for her about a week ago and she will not come out of it! I know ball pythons hide a lot but I have been handling her everyday since I got her without any incident or scared reaction from her, but now she retreats really fast and acts very skiddish when I go to pick her up, or even reach in there to do daily maintenance. I have read all the signs of shedding but she doesn't seem to show those signs and she's been like this for a week. I tried picking her up a couple days ago and she struck at me with her mouth closed. So now all I can do is just pick up the top of the hide and pet her a little but even then she curls up tighter going to a defensive position. I haven't picked her up since she started acting this way and her feeding day is tomorrow. Please if anyone has any input, I would greatly appreciate it!

Do u have 2 hides or just that 1? ... They do better with having a choice. Seems like she's stressed... Let her eat tomorrow and give her like 4 or 5 days with no major disturbing and try again. Mine is still a little nervous and puffs up but I still handle her.. I'm not gonna let her get the best of me

I have these plants that she would hide under before I got the hide. She hasn't shown any interest since. I will buy another hide tomorrow when I buy a feeder. Thanks for the advice, I'll just handle her tomorrow for the feeding process then leave her be for a few days.

Sorry, guess I skipped over that part. NM
