Vet visits for new hatchlings.
I was just wondering if most of you take new snakes for a vet visit to get them checked out or not. I've recently picked up two new babies and was curious. I know they've got mites. I've ordered some reptile spray for this. Just curious as to check for internal parasites or anything.

I get fecal tests done to check for parasites, but that's it. I don't take a new snake to the vet unless there's actually something wrong with the animal. Its unnecessarily stressful for them.
For fecals, just give the vet a stool sample.
And I always treat for mites regardless if they have them if not. Its a good quarantine procedure.

Can any vet check the stool sample or should it be a vet for exotic animals? Not sure about a good vet for reptiles in my area.

Yes. Any vet can check for fecals.
