    Black poop
First of all I'm sorry my first post here is a question about poop.

Today when I was cleaning cages I noticed this black poop:

Does anyone know why it looks like this?

It came from a 1200 gram female who seems really healthy, she eats really well and this is the first weird poop she has ever had.

I've never seen this before. My snakes feces are always solid formed almost like a dogs lol. What I see in the pic looks like black fish eggs with urates behind it. Did the snake just come off a food strike?

She's always had solid brown poop up until this point too. She also hasn't missed a meal for over half a year now.

Up until this poop she has always seemed super healthy and happy, I've had her for almost a year now and she has only missed 2 meals. I use paper towel as a substrate and I know my temperatures are right, I really have no idea why her poop would look like this.

If no one here knows what it is then I will definitely take her to see a vet on Monday and for now I removed her from my reptile room so she can't infect my other snakes just in case.

I've never seen poop like that before, maybe a trip to the vet just for a check up should be done as a precaution , not sure about snakes but I always thought that black poop meant blood (old blood) is present in the stool. Keep us updated for sure.

Could that old blood be produced by her reabsorbing her follicles?

Not sure, sorry, I wouldn't want to speculate, better check with a vet if you're unable to track it down otherwise

Can you save that in a ziplock? Your Vet may be able to determine what the contents are.
