    Popping my BP's back
I just wanted to know if anyone has experienced this before.. Sometimes I will handle my juvenile normal, and he will move across my hands, and his back pops. I can feel every vertebrae pop as he moves across my hand. It's almost as if he likes it because once he starts popping, he will keep moving until every part of him pops.

Is something wrong or do snakes just enjoy popping their backs?

    Thanks ben

I've never heard of that. I think I'd be concerned. :(

I think he's okay but his back literally pops when I hold him. It's not regular, just like once a week or so. He seems to enjoy it because after he pops, he is so much more active. I hope nothing is wrong with him.. :(

This does sound a bit odd. Any way to get a video??
I can't say that I've heard of this, or even that it's "bad". What you're describing does strike me as... different...
but it also doesn't sound like it's necessarily hurting your snake. Just very confused!

I will try to get a video next time, it's very subtle though. I only noticed because I could feel it.

Wow I can't believe no one has experienced this before. I'm pretty sure everyone has popped their fingers or back or something else. The same thing is happening with the snake. It's not like he's breaking its bones or anything. Your snake is fine. I wouldn't necessarily do this to your snake intentionally, Ive gotten experience with the popping thing when my snake likes to somehow get crammed into something. But you should try and post a vid to try to calm everyone down lol.

I have a few snakes who like to pop their back. My 10 year old BP has been doing it for...well...10 years and she is happy and healthy :)

I've felt it a couple times on a few of mine. As long as they are healthy and all is well, no worries. :gj:
