    T-8
Soo I bought a Exoterra 36x18x18 as a first enclosure for a ball python but I ended up getting a Milksnake instead.

I'm glad I didn't put the ball in there because the night I prepared my tempratures just like everyone said it was hard to keep humidity perfect even with foil and rigging and moss and misting. It is absolutely perfect for the milksnake though he loves it and so long as he is happy I am happy.:D

Tomorrow I am getting a ball python for realz from craigslist and he is going straight into quarantine. He is in a GIANT aquarium from hell. The owner did the best he could but.... well ya know I don't think he read a caresheet. Its gonna be a job getting everything fixed to where its a proper enclosure but I like a good challenge and the little guy deserves it.:gj:

Next week I am looking to order a nice enclosure, a T-8 from Animal Plastics.

I just wanted to get some takes on this, this is my last snake {hubby said so -rolls eyes-}, I don't breed and these are just pets so how easy is keeping humidity on the T-8s and is the T-8 big enough for a full grown ball python? I know the tub system is great for heat and humidity but if it is possible to keep him in a nice display cage and keep him healthy at the same time I would like to go that route.
    :please:

I have two T8s divided in half. That half is plenty for a full grown ball python. It keeps the heat and humidity correct without me even trying. I have radiant heat panels on either side of the dividers to supply my heat. Although, honestly it's a waste of an enclosure to have the BPs in them because you'll see the decorations and that's it since they hide all the time. I have my boa in one T8 and she's much more interesting and pretty much always out. But if you're positively sure you won't be having a collection of them it's a decent choice for 2 ball pythons. :)

AP T8s are awesome. I'm actually having another one shipped out soon (it usually takes two weeks from the time you order).

The T8 is definitely large enough for a BP for the rest of it's life. Most people split them into two terrariums (with the optional divider).

I personally use a RHP (radient heat panel) for ambient heating and use heat tape for the hot spot. I highly suggest getting a proprtional thermostat (like a herpstat 2) to control both heat sources.

I use coco husk as substrate which holds humidity pretty well. It's kind of high at first, but then evens out to about 45-55%.

Here's a great thread on the T8 setup which might answer a lot of questions (have no idea why this thread hadn't been stickied yet)

    Thank you!
Thank you for the link it was a great help!

I'm very excited now and kinda nervous at the same time. I hope I can make this little guy comfortable as quick as possible and he is as healthy as he looks in the pictures. One of the pictures was of him eating so I'm hopeful. I won't know what I need till I see more of his tank. I know he doesn't have a UTH though so he'll need that and a thermostat right away. I'll get you guys some pictures once he is all settled in and cozy.:gj:
