    Eating after winter fast
Loki has been acting hungry (poking her head out when I come in, reacting to warm bodies near her cage) but when I try to feed her, she acts lost. Firstly, I feed live so the rats move for me. She'll come out of her hide and track down the rat but then won't strike at it. She'll poke around and above it but when she gets near it isn't aggressive and sometimes vectors off as if she lost it. The one young rat (much smaller than her normal meals) I've gotten her to eat the past 4-5 months she didn't even bite. She just kinda laid on top of it and smothered it before eating it. All other behavior has been pretty normal, may be spending more time in her cold hide than normal but no other strange behavior.

Any ideas or has anyone seen similar behavior?

She is an adult female, fully grown, never bred but wrapped her water bowl more this year than she has before (if that can affect behavior, I've no idea).

Breeding season affects some of my adukts that are not breeding at all. Spring is just coming up so i would keep trying to get her to eat. Watch her weight and make sure she doesnt get too thin. We had a female go off food for breeding season not lay eggs and it took her 13 months before she would eat now this year (the following year) she is on track to lay 7 eggs. Goodluck!
