Im in my country Puerto Rico and I went herping and I found this snake http://img.tapatalk.com/d/14/03/20/9y3ehane.jpg that is the Puertorican Racer .....it is mildly poisonous and a little agresive......when its trying to strike it will stand just like a cobra and expand its neck......iv been havin it for 3 hours and I already tamed it a lil bit http://img.tapatalk.com/d/14/03/20/pe2ugu5y.jpghttp://img.tapatalk.com/d/14/03/20/hesepu7e.jpg

What do you think about this snake??
It is illegal to have it as pet or take it to the United States which means no one owns one over there.....do u think it should be a pet in the US??

Crazy long and lean especially in the tail. I'd say no to US ownership. I'm speaking off the cuff and would think that non native venomous specias could cause problems if not properly handled. We have plenty of US snakes that are hot for those that wish to own them.

I've seen these snakes around when I visit Puerto Rico. My great grandfather and I use to try and catch them.

Even though I can appreciate the beauty of your snake, I just don't think we need another species here in the US. We have plenty of beauties to choose from here, and with the poisonous ones we have here, there's enough bureaucracy to muddle through. Why complicate things even more.
