is it possible to have a snake whos eyes wont go cloudy during a shed?
-
shed/cloudy eyes
No, that would mean his eye caps wouldn't shed.

Yeah, they go "blue" when their eyecaps seperate with fluid(I think), giving them a cloudy look. This is what starts the seperation of old skin to new skin. So I'd assume if they never went cloudy, their eye caps wouldn't shed.
This brings up a question I've been wondering for a while. I know how they shed, but...I don't know where the skins come from. Like, are they born with a certain amount of layers of skin? Or is it like fingernails...they never stop growing, or in a snakes case, never stop producing a new layer of skin. I dunno how it works. One of the few things that baffles me.

They grow new skins all the time, just like us. :) Only we shed in small pieces as a rule, and hopefully they don't.

Our skin is layered like crazy, you can't really find one small patch. So we don't realize when we shed ... which is basically every day.

if you wore a black body suit everyday for a week and didn't take it off and then at the end of the week you peeled it off of yourself you would see little skin flakes all over it. gross but true.

I hope you're not speaking from experience.

no but it would be kind of cool if i was. like if i was that into the science of dead skin or something. ok, maybe it wouldn't be that cool after all. :P

I don't think you'd smell to good after being in the same wet-suit for a week straight.
-
he he, well no, but sometimes you have to sacrifice for the sake of science. :D
