Weird behavior
Any idea why my female is always up on this ledge? Her heat mat is at the other end of the tank behind the plants, and she is at the cold end up on the shelf lol, if I take her down n put her somewhere else she just goes back to that exact same spot in a wheel shape lol, I've kept royals for a while now, so I know all my temps etc are correct and fine just never seen this behaviour before lol, any ideas ?http://img.tapatalk.com/d/14/03/18/bujuhy7a.jpg

Re: Weird behavior
What is your temp on the heat mat, and how are you controlling it?

Re: Weird behavior
Like I said Im not new to royals and I know my temps, it's 95°f and its being controlled by a thermostat, believe me that was the first thing I checked

Re: Weird behavior
Imo, 95° is too hot. She's probably hot, that's why she is in the coolest spot. Turn it down to 90-91 and see if that changes her behavior. ;)

Re: Weird behavior
Wow really sorry dude, I always kept my royals with a hotspot of 95°f for like two years, it's what the exotics shop told me to do, they said 95° was perfect with a couple if degrees either way for temp play, I'll drop em all now, how come none of my others have ever acted like thus?

Some like it hot and some don't lol. The snakes don't know about the golden rules engraved in granite, encrusted with rare gems and stones.
Some humans like hot weather, some prefer the cold. Find what your snake is comfortable with, and check it against the recommendations. If you are way off you might be reading your snake wrong. If you are close, then roll with it.

Sometimes Ball Pythons do weird crap... As long as she's eating, pooping, and shedding, I wouldn't lose too much sleep over it.
