    Amount of food
I have had my BP for 5 weeks. She is eating great and has shed last week. While I feel the mouse is the width of her greatest girth, I'm on the fence. This evening is the first time she has actually struck at her food and her head is out of her hide looking like she wants more. Should I see if she wants another?

I think she answered my question by striking at the second. So now it becomes, do I start on rats?

You can start on rats any time.
You could try offering a rat of equal size or a little larger to see if she would take it.

I know I need to know this, but I don't know her weight. What kind of scale can I get and where?

She is eating large mice, dethawed.

digital kitchen scale which measures grams can be found at wally world, target, kmart, etc.

I've seen a few people(including myself) use the $12-$15 one from walmart.
