Extended shed process/feeding advice sought
I have two ball pythons that both went into blue February 21. They still haven't shed. Some small pieces have come off each but, the majority (95%+) is still intact. It is dry and wrinkly.
One BP was 75 grams and the other 125 grams four weeks ago.
They are in there own but, identical enclosure set ups. We've been misting daily for two weeks, created moist hides with hand squeezed dry moss and have now added a humidifier to the room. The room humidity is at 65%. I think the CHE is drying things out. The enclosure is glass, with all of the top covered with an aluminum panel below the screen and only the area below the CHE covered with only screen
We had been feeding them once per week prior to the shed and they were due to eat on feb 22. So, it will be four weeks since eating come tomorrow.
Should I still not feed them until the shed is complete. Or, is it best to get them eating again. They are both very active and are moving throughout the enclosures day and night.

put each snake in a wet snake bag or pillow case for a couple hours and the shed will come off.

Hi,
I think you need this sticky.
Humidity can be a problem with CHE's and you really need at least one bit of the enclosure ( maybe a humid hide? ) to be %70-%80 when they are shedding.

That sticky should be removed.
Balls can and do drown in a small amount of water.
I don't know of any snake that has died from being in a wet pillowcase!

The problem is the snake is not in shed, it has a stuck shed.
I would not feed until the shed is off. The stuck shed may not allow the snakes skin to stretch enough to get the prey down properly.

That is a good point Jon. I was referring more to the OP's point that he quit feeding them on 22 Feb when they went into shed.
