    Sad time and sad memories
My oldest brother and his wife were interviewed for an article in their local newspaper. It is about the great loss my family and I have suffered when my brother lost his son and daughter due to heroin overdoses. This is my niece and nephew we are talking about. They both passed away in their early twenties and left little ones behind. My oldest daughter that is 19 is a heroin addict and my youngest that is 17 has bipolar disorder just like I do. As a mother myself I worry about my children everyday. I do not want my children to end up like my brother's children. My brother and his wife are hoping that by making their story public someone might be helped from their tragedy. It really was sad seeing the pictures of my niece and nephew from when they were young and happy. Such a terrible loss and it just makes it even harder knowing how young they both were when they died.

It shocks me to think that our kids out there think of heroin as a recreational drug. I just wish they knew heroin is actually one of the most addictive substances commonly available. :(

Education is key when it comes to drug use and understanding it. Far too many kids my age die due to misinformation about them. Very sad :(

Also, ballpythonluvr, I am very sorry for your loss and the situation that you and your children currently find themselves in. I'm not dissimilar to your daughter.

This may not be the platform to discuss it but I hope that your daughter can overcome the addiction. It is a horrible place to be in, and feels impossible to get out of. Best of luck to the both of you and to your son.
