Incense and Ball Pythons

I am curious as to whether or not burning incense in my room where I keep my reptiles is detrimental to their health. From the little bit of research theres mixed opinions. Thanks

I don't think I've ever seen any information on it, but, incense smoke is an airborne particulate, and I would personally try to avoid it.

I burn cone incense in my living room on occasion with 4 snakes between my living room and dining room. There is enough ceiling and circulation for the smoke to thin out. If I had a snake/reptile room, I would not burn it in there.

I'll have to post pics at some point, my snakes love hanging out on my incense burner. Makes for a great prop. :)

I used to burn it occasionally. I always kept everything well ventilated.

My snakes are in my living room and I have a plug in scent by the diaper genie in the same room just on the opposite side. I keep my living room well ventilated so it disipates before it gets to that side of the room. I'm more afraid of the diaper genie smell than my snake poop smell lol.

From what I've read on the subject (this particular topic having sparked a very heated fight between my fiancee and I) it seems that it's at best risky to use any air carried products in the room with your snakes. No candles, no incense, no air fresheners, no cleaning fumes. There certainly isn't information to say that it's helpful, so we just avoid it. But, then again, if your room is big enough and it's airy enough, it's probably not going to kill them.

Agreed, must depend on ventilation.
