    Is this normal?
Got a matrix blood female from an individual. She's about 120 grams. I'm a ball guy and this is my first blood. Her belly is brownish and she is MUCH softer than my ball pythons. Is this nOrmal or is she ill? It worries me but she did eat about two weeks after I got her and like I said. I know nothing about them.

Sounds like the shed process.. If you click on my facebook link below and look at my notes, I have a shedding note started but not finished but with many pictures for reference..

It's such a weird feeling that she is so supple, unless she asserts herself (you can feel her muscles) to move she feels like a bag of jello. She seems healthy otherwise and is very docile. This is what she looks like. I'll try to upload a pic of her belly later.

She looks healthy to me. Bloods aren't going to feel as muscular as other snakes. My guess is because they are mainly terrestrial and don't need those tree climbing muscles.

That being said they can pack one hell of a punch.

If you are correct on the weight, the animal has likely NOT had its 1st shed.. Babies of the "BLOOD" type do not shed their skin UNTIL growth has warranted such..
From what I have learned they will not shed until they have doubled to near tripled their hatch weight.. The amount of time is of course feed dependent.. It could be as soon as 2 months or as long as 5-6 months.. The brownish color does not sound right, it should be more of an orange or peach color and near brownish just prior to the skin being shucked.. IMO..
    Nice looking snake BTW..
