Today i saw my first goliath bird eating tarantula WOW.
unfortunately i don't have any pictures however, i was shocked by the sheer size of this thing. it apparently has an 11 inch span. i saw it at a local reptile store, and apparently the guy that i was talking to has handled it. sorry no real point to this thread but to share my astonishment. i never thought a spider could reach that size!!

Iraqui camel spiders are humongous, and apparently territorial, and when they fight I've heard it sounds like children screaming in pain.

This was told to me by a veteran who seemed to think they were the worst thing about being in Iraq, haha. :salute:

thats awesome! i don't think i could ever bring my self to own a spider that can get to be 11 inches. because I'm not sure why....but it was truly awesome to see. I'm slowly coming around to owning a T. they seem like great animals and from what i know extremely easy to keep. theres just a certain bridge i need to get over lol

hahaha like a year ago I was afraid of spiders and now my collection is ridiculous! fear turns to fascination really quick once you start learning about them. They are the lowest maintenance pet i've ever had for the most part. there are a few species that require a little more upkeep than some.

Massive! I've never seen one in person but I've checked them out on YouTube and by comparison to the handler's hand, the GBE was ridiculous. I don't have the bravery now to own spiders but I can see it happening soon.
