Which Heating pad?!

I have a couple of heating pads that I can use for my Burmese I don't know which one to use tho I have one that is a human heating pad with a dial to select low medium and high or I have one that I bought from a pet store that is one of those under heating pads......just a plan black one no dial you just pop it under the tank and it works. So i am wondering which one should I use?

i would use the human heating pad. i use it for my ball and my BCI

See I told the guy at the pet store that I was going to use it and he said......."Don't use it, It will crack your tank". I was like isnt it the samething as the one you sell? He told me that it warms up and it stays at one temp it wont give off too much heat unlike the human one. But thats ok I bought it cause he gave me a deal. So I brought it home and I havent hooked it up yet.......I am waiting to hear peoples advice on here!

Agreed, I have both a ZooMed pad (~$30) and a human heating pad ($12 from WalMart) and I much prefer the human pad. The adjustable temps work wonders when getting the kinks out of the system. ;) Just make sure the human pad doesn't have an automatic shutoff.

I think I will use the human one for the snake and I will use the herp one for myself! IF IT IS GOOD ENOUGH FOR MY SNAKE IT IS GOOD ENOUGH FOR ME!!

i think the guy at the pet store only told you that it would crack the tank to get you to buy his....... Pet stores only seem to want your money sometimes.

Human head pads are safe for humans.
My walmart human heater doesn't melt plastic, whats the chances of it cracking glass?

the only way it might crack the glass is if it was completely warmed up first (and probably on too high of a setting to begin with for a snake) and you put it directly on the glass, which happened to be really cold. and i doubt that is going to happen. perhaps there have been some freak incidents, but it's really not a common thing.

i am using a exo terra heating pad and it works just fine for me. it is 90.9 degrees during the day on the hot side and 88.4 at night on the hot side. but if i ad a human heating pad then i would use it.

Oh yeah, since she brought it up.
There should be atleast an inch gap between your tank and heating pad.
To allow hot air to escape.
