Just bought a Zoo Med Reptifogger
I bought it to raise the humidity in Marcie's terrarium, and I've been using it for about a week now, turning it on for 20 minutes twice a day. It's been alright, I know Marcie loves it. She always comes out whenever I turn it on.
I can still tell the substrate is drying out though, but not as quickly. I use EcoEarth. Was thinking about covering up more of the screen top, since I have only covered about half of it.
The "Zoo Med HygroTherm Humidity and Temperature Controller" was recommended alongside the humidifier so I'm thinking about getting that as well, might keep it more humid.
Does anyone else have one/have thoughts about the product?
Re: Just bought a Zoo Med Reptifogger
I've only seen one person use it and he had to refill the water bottle once a day. Said it worked great for him. IMO- it seems overpriced if I have to refill it every day. But it depends on relative humidity I supose. Not sure if the zoomed hygro/thermostat is any good but the proper herpstat would definitely be worth the price.
There was also someone who just did a fogger converstion to a humidifier, if I find it I'll post the link to the thread.

I own one. May I suggest using a 2 liter bottle instead of the 1 liter that comes with it. i use a two liter bottle, the spout attaches onto 2 liter the same as the 1 liter.

Dang, that's pretty impressive. I'll pick one up today! Where do you place yours? In the cool or warm side?

I use a tub and rack system, so I place mine in the front of the tub. I use a temp gun to monitor the warm spot in the back. I use the Acu-rite to give me a basic air temp and humidity level. Basically, if I can do a quick look and see that my humidity and air temp in the front (cool end) of the tub are good, then I can be pretty certain that things in the back of the tub are ok.
It looks like this:

EDIT: This photo was taken when I was stationed in Virginia. Now that I'm back in Florida where the humidity is higher, I use a much smaller water bowl.

Oh I see! What temp gun do you use? I want a really good one, but not so pricey.
I used to live in South Carolina so they humidity levels were great in my snake's terrarium, but now that I'm in Washington state, it's hell
Thanks for helping, by the way!
