when the time does come for a female to lay eggs...will she lay on paper substrate just fine, or will I need to put in some cypress bark to get her to lay?

She will lay wherever she pleases, sometimes on the bare tub bottom. Still best to provide a lay box for her, 8 out of 10 times she will use it. I usual just use newspaper and she drops them wherever.

Mine have usually managed to move the paper out of the way to lay on the bare tub...does make it easier to move them...:)

I'm thinking about using some damp moss in an open litter box. Do you guys take away the water bowl when it comes close to laying?
