Live Weaners near Staines / West London
    Hi guys,

I have been having issues with my BP not eating. it has been about 2 months now and he has lost a bit of weight. I was wondering if there are any breeders in my area which can spare a few for me to try him on live. Get him back into the swing of things. I am willing to pay and possibly travel, depending on location.

He is due a shed in 2 weeks or so, so I will try after that. Anyone in the area just drop me a message and we will go from there. Thanks :)

I have a chain of pet shops near my house, petsathome. They are similar to PetCo etc. in the USA. Is it adviseable to buy smaller rats from them. I am worried about them being in poor health and having some parasites etc? Should this be a worry or could I just buy one from there and use that instead?

    Thanks.

    Hi,

They may refuse to sell you anything if they suspect the rat will be fed to a snake. Not because it is illegal ( it isn't despite what they may say ) but because I believe it is against their store policy.

If they don't suspect anything, or I just say it is going to be an addition to an established set up then would you consider buying from a chain store?

Possibly - depends on how the animals looked.

I probably wouldn't jump to live feeding in your circumstances though - there are a few more tips and tricks to try before going there in most cases.

The fact it is winter and breeding season would make me fairly relaxed about a short term fast at this point unless he was losing a lot of weight and condition.

Yeah, I am going to wait a while and see what happens, I just wanted to get things sorted in good time :) He losing weight though, I will weigh him today and tell you what he was in mid Jan.

    Thanks for the advice!
