    uvb fluorescent lighting
So I'm totally new to snakes, but I got my first baby ball python the otherday and the petstore told me to buy a uvb light along with the heat light to regulate metabolism or else the bp won't eat. So I did, but now everything I read says this isn't true....that they don't need a uvb light at all. So I guess my question is, is the uvb light beneficial at all though I may not NEED it? Or is it doing nothin.g and I should return it? If I don't need one but it does have benefits ill keep it, but I don't wanna waste money or electricity on something that's notserving any purpose. I appreciate any info! Thanks!

Return it. The UVB light is doing absolutely nothing for your snake. Ball Pythons will be just fine with just regular daylight and nothing else and even then they hide during the day. If you decide to put in a light, it's just for yourself.

I was told the same thing when I got mine. She's been almost 2 years without one and is as healthy as can be :)
