Getting a new vivarium... which size?
Hi all.
My ball python, Kiwi, she's nearing to 7 months old now and it's definitely time to get her a bigger vivarium, she's still in her starter viv which is approx 18 inches length-wise! I was wondering whether or not to opt for the 36" or 48" viv. I was thinking 36" since she is a bit too small and 48" is quite large and she wouldn't feel comfortable just yet.
Was looking at this one in particular. I've looked up Terapod which are the manufacturers of these vivs and she seem quite sturdy vivs which many customers are happy with. Not a bad price either.

I was also wondering if it matters what colour the wood is... quite fancy the Walnut colour to be honest!
Thanks!
Re: Getting a new vivarium... which size?
I would get the 36", follow the "L" rule (length and width of viv combined), not many bp's get to be 5' or larger. Looks like they come in two widths, I'd go for the shallower one.

I would go with the 48". Though ive never kept juvies in those I use 48" enclosures for my adults and really like them a lot.
Also as far as height goes; I think shorter is actually better. A shorter enclosure (mine are 12" ) will give the snake a great sense of security, and ive found that mine dont hide as much. In fact Lucy, my old girl, doesnt even hide at all any more
