    Next "Tonight" Show Host?
So...who will be the next Tonight Show host? Because Jimmy Fallon is about as funny as a funeral. His days are numbered. I wonder if Jay will come back (again) once NBC comes back to their senses...:confusd:

You're the first person I've heard who doesn't like Fallon doing talk shows. He is apparently funny and has a big connection in the music world. I think it's the influence which gets him his jobs cause I don't think he's very funny myself. He seemingly gets any band on his show whenever he pleases. Mind you I did not watch the tonight show. Some of it may also be generational, Fallon seems to lend himself to "younger"(under 30 maybe?) crowds. But I could be wrong.

On a nerd note, he could somehow have a 20 charisma and people just flock to his super shiny teeth/awesome smile. Which makes me wonder if my Wisdom is high enough to overcome such charisma or my intelligence is high/low enough to not get his jokes. :D

Yeah...I just don't get it...he seems like a nice enough guy, and I'm sure the little girlies swoon over his shiny teeth :D but funny he ain't. At best, he'd finish mid-pack at a junior high talent show. And to start off the very first show by trotting out Will Smith, U2 :puke2: and a bunch of other Hollywood C-listers? I think "The Tonight Show" may soon be a thing of the past...Johnny must be rolling over in his grave...

as a breaking bad fan, i found this to be ridiculously funny:

also a show like this has so many writers, the guy on stage just presents it like an actor. the guests, the structure, the jokes, thats all being done by other people. as long as he presents the stuff as intended and doesnt botch the jokes and doesnt make stupid mistakes or causes unintentionally awkward moments, i dont think he can ruin the show.

Let me ask to everyone who doesn't like him, did you like Jay Leno? If so, this conversation is already a lost cause.

Jimmy isn't a comedian. He's a talk show host. What I like most about him is that he's the only one that seems genuinely appreciative of the guests he interviews. He doesn't act like he's on the same level of them, but always seems truly surprised that he gets to hang out with a bunch of celebrities for a living.

As Pyrate81 said, he has incredible connections to the music world. The Roots are an amazing band, and it's unbelievable that they choose to spend their time on a talk show. Jimmy's bromance with Justin Timberlake has resulted in some of the best stuff I've ever seen on any of these shows.

Like any new show, they need time to get their groove going. Moving to a new time slot means that they have have a different audience they need to tailor the show to. They also have new restrictions imposed by the network. One of my favorite parts of Late Night was the drinking games he had with the guests, but I doubt that will be allowed on The Tonight Show.

Give it time before you say you don't like it, but at least give it a chance first.

Side note, I'm also interested to see what Seth Myers does with Late Night, especially since he has Fred Armisen as his band leader.

Also, I'm someone that hated Jimmy when he was on SNL, but he grew on me mainly due to that video I linked.

Ok, can anyone say this clip from last night was anything short of brilliant?
