My Pied thinks he's a Rottweiler
So I've been having trouble feeding my Pied boy. It's not that he doesn't TRY to eat, but he can't figure out HOW to do it.
Over the past 3 weeks (this has been going on for almost a month now) I've tried to feed my Pied boy a variety of prey. I tried mouse hopper, rap pup, and small mouse but he always does the same thing. He attacks the live prey and coils it but then lets go and looses interest. He'll try to start eating it from the middle but after a couple times of trying that, gives up. I tried warming up the prey in hot water and zombie dancing it for him, but he just repeats the process of striking, coiling and then holding it like a Rottweiler.
Any thoughts, experiences or suggestions would be appreciated.
By the way, I love my high white Pied, but wiping blood stains off of him was definitely an interesting experience. Lol.

Yea he's pretty young. It's just odd because I've had him for a couple of months now and he ate perfectly until just a couple of weeks ago. No changes have been made so it's just an odd situation.

I have a girl that does this. You just need to leave them alone for awhile and they will figure it out, don't take it away from them to warm it back up or whatever else, and they will most likely eventually eat it. If it's been overnight or something obviously throw it away

Have you tried live? Maybe that would peak his interest.

I do feed live. He just kills it but won't eat. After a long while, I warm it up and he gets interested again

After you are sure it's dead, just leave it. Leave him alone. Maybe try covering the front of his cage. Or feeding at night and turn the lights out after rodent has passed.

So today I tried feeding again and ended up putting him in a smaller enclosure (very small shoe box). He ate just fine. Even though I feed him in a dark room normally, maybe he still feels insecure.
I'll try the same shoe box next week with a bigger prey and see how it goes.
Thanks for all suggestions everyone.
