Male 20inch mojave for 100$? It would be my first bp and I think they're an awesome morph. It's from a pretty reputable online dealer.

Ask the breeder for snake weight, age, body condition, and current pics. Try to get one of the snake on a scale. Generally you don't go by length to determine value since a very long snake can still be very thin. Also steer away from ASF-fed snakes unless you have a ready supply nearby - they are very difficult to switch onto other food sources!

Great advice, will do thank you. I never came across the asf issue while researching but it makes total sense. I definitely don't want to run into that kind of problem. I have a nearby exotic pet store that provides live and I believe f/t mice and rats. Oh and btw... Are there any breeder reviews on this forum? I've looked but couldn't find the section , I'm also new so forgive me if it's in front of my face so to speak lol

You will find breeder/seller reviews here on occassion, but there is not a huge dedicated forum for them. A good site is Faunaclassifieds.com. They host a Board of Inquiry which provides feedback for both sellers and buyers and has a lot of good information. Take some of it with a grain of salt, however - you'll find idiots and trolls all over the Internet.

Bear in mind that depending on where you are and where the seller is, shipping can get pricey. I'm having a snake shipped to me from CA once the weather improves, shipping cost is $78 and the snake is about the size of the one you're getting.

The whole "they'll get stuck on ASF's" stuff has pretty much been debunked by people who have pretty extensive experience with them...just fyi...

Not so much... good luck converting ASF eaters... they are worse than mousers, in my personal experience.

Aye, I don't agree with the whole "debunked" thing, either. I never fed ASFs myself but I have read plenty of keeper experiences on this very website detailing problems with ASF-fed ball pythons. Yes, it is possible to get them to switch food sources, but this is not an issue a new keeper needs to face.

Really? There's been several threads here that contradict that??? I've never tried ASF's but those that did seemed pretty adamant that bp's don't get "hooked" on them...hmmm...:confusd:
