    What's going on?
So I have two pairs breeding this year. I started December 1st and haven't seen anything major, maybe the females look a little chunkier. In one pair, I have seen them lock up the four times I put them together at least twice. The other pair only locked the first time, and I haven't SEEN anything since. So my question is, should I not expect much action (ovulation) for a few months (that was my assumption since Markus says he pairs until the end of May). Should I be worried? With the second pairing I know it's the female being unreceptive; I've witnessed him trying. So how do I get her going? I know there's various ways to get the males to breed, but what about females? I have other breeder males if that's of assistance.

    As always, Thank You!

    Any advice about the female?

She'll quit preserving herself eventually. If you're going for a specific result though, introducing another male may mess up your numbers if she decides to take him instead of her intended beau. Have you dropped temps at all? It's not necessary for BPs a lot of the time, but dropping temps or cold fronts moving through can sometimes stimulate breeding activity.

Totally agree :) wait for a nice storm to come through and pair then up. Makes them frisky so maybe she will give in haha :P

I have dropped temps, but I'll keep going I guess. So to be clear, another male wouldn't help make her receptive?

I know many breeders use the sperm plugs from another male and rub them on the females back to have the scent of another male instead of pairing another male and possibly having an unwanted gene. You could try this if you want, even thought it's kinda weird haha.
