Yes, make sure you can somehow lock the lid with wire. Otherwise they will take everything out and play with their food:taz:

@ nikki I only keep 2 females to a tub and usually when they drop litters I separate them .. except for the males I there's like 6 of them but usually one or 2 are out breeding all the time so that size should be suitable im hoping

I use the same thing but a longer version that lays down more. FYI if you ever use 1/4 and think its to small for them to eat out of just cut piece of of the mesh to make the wholes slightly larger. I see a lot of threads where the got buy bigger stuff when they couldve just done that

Yea this is half inch ... but my rats r not used to being fed like this I used to just throw there food on the ground in rhe tub ... I feel like this will cut out a lot of the mess and the waste of food

Yeah it should, you will probably notice your filling more often if you dont make a bigger one. But then again I probably just have glutenous rats

I'd make it a cylinder shape vs cube. Less sharp spots and less cutting/work.
