    Doesn't drink
    Hey all,

My Ball wont drink, and I have never seen him drink. I don't sleep much, so even at 2/3am I never see him go to his water bowl...He is getting those folds on his side when he curls but still won't drink :( He is eating fine, watching him eat right now actually. His tank temp is 85.1 and humidity is between 50 and 60%. His water bowl is slightly bigger than him. He is getting ready to shed now too. Sorry I sound so frantic, I am just a worried father I guess lol

Oh an just took his body temp it is 76.0

I've only ever seen BP's drink a couple of times. Can't remember ever hearing a story about a BP that would eat, but did damage to it's self by not drinking. The folds you see on his sides may have more to do with an impending shed than with dehydration. Just keep providing him with fresh water. He'll do the rest ;)

Yeah, as mentioned already, he will definitely be drinking :) I've been lucky enough to catch my BP drinking and I've only had him for a few weeks! I got a few pics and put them on my profile!

Ball Pythons don't drink that much. And when they do, you're probably not around to see it. You might catch it during a water change.

But in general, ball pythons get most of their essential moisture from their food and environment.

    Tragic Image
Our "normal" will rarely ever be spotted taking a sip.

Our Bumblebee will take a long drink just after eating.

They may surprise you one day though. I usually never see my normal drink, but one day when I was putting him back into his enclosure he was wrapped around my wrist and he just stretched down from my wrist and started drinking right then in front of me. But he is fasting at the moment so not getting any liquids from food so he drinks more often now.

I had the same problem, however, it was until recently I have seen my BP drink water. You do not look at him 24/7, so he may be drinking when you are not looking. As for the wrinkles, it may be upcoming shed, or just his skin bending, like yours when you bend your finger, it does not stay straight. Good luck with you BP.

P.S.: Look in this thread, hopefully you will find your answer. http://ball-pythons.net/forums/showt...ht=metalsmoker
