    Stuck Eye Cap? Please Help
Hey guys I just bought this Pewter Ball Python yesterday and I'm hoping this is just a stuck eye cap. Can you tell me what it is and if it's bad or what I can do about it? I tried a Q-Tip with warm water and gently rubbed his eye and let him crawl through a warm pillow case for a few minutes but it didn't work.

It's hard to tell 100% from that picture, but it does look like a retained cap. Honestly, the best thing you can do with a stuck eye cap is to wait it out till the next shed. Make sure your husbandry, especially humidity is spot on, and let the next shed take it off.

I can't stress enough how important it is to not mess around with their eyes. I know all about the Q-tip trick, but you may want to take a look at this...

Not trying to be scary, or even insinuate that what happened in this thread is a regular occurrence, but it is important to know all the risks before you start trying to manage them.

Boost up your humidity. Watch your snake very carefully for it's next shed. If your husbandry is correct, the eye cap should come off with it's next shed.

I agree wait till next shed if it doesnt come off with the next shed you can buy a rubber thumb and very very gently try to rub it off but thats only if it doesnt come off with the next shed

Appears to be a stuck cap. I do not recommend messing with it in any way shape or form. Make sure your humidity is good next shed, and it should come off. You can do WAY more damage than good messing with eye caps.

Okay guys thanks for the information. I will keep an eye on her and keep the humidity up. I just hope she still eats with the retained eye cap. I did just get her 2 days ago so I haven't attempted to feed. Again, Thank You.

Agreed with others. Should come off with next shed - as others have said, make sure humidity is plenty high enough during next shed cycle. If it gets retained again, then I would look at trying to manually remove it, because 2 stuck caps will be a lot harder to come off next time. But for now don't sweat it.
