Wouldn't muck around with either one of those products. Acrylic is heavy and brittle. Corrugated plastic isn't strong enough for what you need to do.

Just go with 3/4" plywood. Way cheaper and more sturdy in the long run. Might catch some deals from home depot every once in awhile. We once got plywood that was really good quality for $16 a 4X8 sheet. Normally they run about $30 a sheet.
