Feeding and handling questions
Hi All,
As you know, I will hopefully be bringing Mya :snake: home in the next 1-2weeks. I have some questions for when she is home:
1. How long should I leave her to get acclimated to her new surroundings before I offer first feed?
2. How long should I wait before handling her? (Don't want to stress her but don't want to leave her too long meaning I have to tame her all over again)
3. When I do feed her, read mixed advice on feeding in enclosure vs in a separate feeding tank. Please let me know your practices/experiences with this.
Thanks in advance

1. 7 days
2. 10 to 14 days if she eats on day 7, if not leave her alone.
3. feed in her enclosure don't move her then stick food in her face that will cause stress.
Good luck !

Re: Feeding and handling questions
#1) I would wait at least one week before feeding her. I sometimes feed earlier if I know the last time the breeder or person I got the BP from fed the animal. I also like to try to get it on the same schedule as the rest of my collection as soon as I can.
#2) I'd give the snake at least a day or two after the first feeding before trying to handle it (so you are looking at 8-9 days after you get the bp). I'd also keep this in mind after future feedings. You don't want to handle too soon after the snake eats as you could risk regurgitation of the meal.
#3) I personally feed mine in their tubs. I have 30+ snakes and do not have time to take each one out into a separate tub. I also have no issues with aggressive snakes from feeding this way (with the exception of hatchlings who can be nippy until they put on size).
Other than that enjoy your new bp :)
Re: Feeding and handling questions
Feed in the enclosure.
Brock Lesner was never a real contender in the ring. Once he got hit he was done. Now....showmanship fake wrestling...no problem. But a real fighter? Please.
Now back to our regular sheduled thread.
