    Crestie Hides?
As you can see from my girlfriends post > http://ball-pythons.net/forums/showt...w-Gecko-Archie! She recently got a Crestie and I found something pretty cool and wondered if it would be appropriate for a Crestie. Would he use it?

    http://www.swallowaquatics.co.uk/rep...nean-cave.html This is the item.

I personally think it is really cool, and think he might enjoy a place like this to hide, the bottom part will be buried in the substrate with only the entrance showing. Opinions?

    Thanks.

I got a response elsewhere, saying a quater or half hollowed log burried but up against the glass would be a better idea. I personally agree and think this option is better for monitoring him!

My gf has a few Cresties. And, we put a Reptiles Basics hide in one cage to see if it would be used at all. Well, now all her Cresties have one along with plenty of plants and cork tubes to hide in.
Some seem to prefer hiding up higher in the enclosure while others do not seem to mind wedging in a dark spot down low but, all have been using them to one degree or another.

So, providing places for your gecko to hide is great, the design of the hide you found doesn't strike me as particularly useful for Cresties or their owners. More of a novelty than anything but, I have been known to be wrong before.

Yeah, I agree it is more of a novelty item! I just think the idea of a buried hide next to the glass is better for my girlfriend as she can then monitor the gecko and see if he uses it. He also has a coconut hide and possibly getting a hammock or hagning a coconut hide from the top of the viv!
