So I am trying to find out more about the blackhead gene. I have been all over reading as much as possible and am still confused. I also emailed Ralph to get his take on it and am waiting for a reply right now. So my question is what do all of you know about this gene? I have read that there are possibly 3 genes at play in some of them, red gene, ringer gene, and basic blackhead. I have no clue honestly and really want to know. So any feedback would be awesome.

I read a tid bit about the blackhead fixing the spider wobble and there is also the allelic theory with spider. So if he replies back, I would be interested if there's any merit to those claims.

I heard that as well with the spider. I want to work with the gene but at the same time want to know more about it first. As soon as he replies I will post here what is said.

I know Dan Gibides at rat Trap Reptiles is working with it quite a bit. He is a great guy, so if you look him up he might answer your questions.

I may do that. I have not heard back from Ralph yet.

I know that Black Head Spiders do not look like Spiders. And yes there is what appears to be a Black Head, a Black Head Red gene and a Black Head Ringer gene.

We currently have a Black Head Yellow Belly non Red gene

I don't have any blackheads but I do follow the project. It seems like those involved in the project are still trying to figure everything out with regards to the different kinds of BHs. It's definitely an interesting project.
