I think I finally have an ovy and a couple of other pairings.
I've been hoping to see some ovys from the girls I've been pairing this year. I've never witnessed an ovy before and some days I would look at the females and think "that has to be an ovy". Then I would get on here and read all the "Is this an ovy" threads look at the pics and hear the more experienced people telling the newbies "no" and get disappointed because their pics looked like my girls that I was sure was ovulating. Then they would tell them "when it's an ovy you can't miss it". Well I didn't understand what I should be looking for until I went in the snake room and opened my albino girls tub and saw for myself. I know that this is a crappy pic and you can't really tell by the angle, but her mid body is huge and her tail is all sucked in and funky looking. Is this the "tail sucking " that I've read about? So I will ask you guys again "Is this an ovulation"? http://i932.photobucket.com/albums/a...ps523515c3.jpg And since I started this thread I figured I might as well threw in a couple of pics from some other pairings. One of my pastels and my pinstripe. She has also been paired with a super pastel and seems to be showing some good signs of building. http://i932.photobucket.com/albums/a...ps2cbafcc6.jpg And my mystic male with a mojave female. I don't think that he's quite got it figured out yet, but he sure has been trying to get it right lately. http://i932.photobucket.com/albums/a...ps7f6f9d0b.jpg Sorry for the crappy pics. I hate the camera that I have now.

Yes it is. She went off feed in December but, she looks like she has just eaten a huge meal. I tried to get better pics but I have a piece of crap camera and she was in a "touch me and you die" mood even though she is always a very docile snake.

Unless you just fed her a bunny, then i'd say ovulation too. Congrats!

I used to have your problem, always getting excited about nothing and getting dissapointed until i was lucky enought to visit a breeder at just the right time. They showed me some huge females and asked me which one i think is ovulating and i said all, wrong answer. Then they showed me the real deal and i was blown away by the size of the belly, it was so swolen that it looked painful.

Thanks for the replies everyone. I guess it's time to get the incubator warming up. At least I know what I'm looking for now I can quit getting excited every time one of my girls look a little chunky. I agree that it looks like they should be in pain. Excited as I was to see it I also felt kinda sorry for the girl.
