Do These Have Chocolate in Them?
A good friend bred these from a male that he thought was a Super Pastel Chocolate Pinstripe. Some people thought that the male didn't have the Chocolate gene in it. I am not that familiar with the Chocolate gene, so I thought I would post pictures of these 2 animals to see what others thought. The first snake is either just a Pastel or maybe a Chocolate Pastel (I am leaning towards simply a Pastel). The second snake is either just a Pastel Mojave or maybe a Pastel Mojave Chocolate (again I am leaning towards simply a Pastel Mojave). Thanks for your input.

    Pastel or Pastel Chocolate????

Yes I know she has some scarring on her back, I got her for free because of that, since he thought he would have trouble selling her, so no complaints.

Pastel Mojave or Pastel Mojave Chocolate???

Got this one for a really good deal, so the Chocolate would be a nice bonus, but I don't think he's got it.

Well the pastel I am almost 100% certain is just a pastel.

But the pastave is .... I don't know how to say it.....odd, I guess.

I don't see chocolate, I don't think. But it's an odd looking pastave all the same. At least, to me it is. I almost wouldn't ind having that one myself to toy around with.

Thanks for posting the picture. I had seen that the Chocolate gene darkens the Mojave, but the pictures of the Chocolate Pastave on World of Ball Pythons (www.worldofballpythons/morps/chocolate-pastave/) are a lot lighter (the influence of the Pastel gene). Still, I think that my animal is too light to have the Chocolate gene, but wanted to ask others who might have more experience.

I don't have any experience with pastave so not sure how much pastel might narrow the dark pattern or contribute to the blushing. The blushing in yours could be due to chocolate but it also has more narrow dark than the WOBP one at http://www.worldofballpythons.com/mo...olate-pastave/ It's really hard to say for sure it isn't chocolate. The first one seems less likely due to how narrow the black is.

I was trying to find a picture of one I hatched that I thought was chocolate pastel:

Not a lot wider dark areas but some and just seems overall darker.

And here is a chocolate Mojave:

Sorry not the best shot and both are very young.

I found a better pic of my chocolate Mojave:

With my Garcia line I look for the white pixilation in the center of the dark areas near the belly. Your pastave might have some of that, but again I don't know what just pastel and Mojave do together.

Just thought I would add an updated photograph of the two snakes in question.

Im not a pro, but that Pastave definitely has something else going on besides just being a regular Pastave. I'll post a photo of mine for reference but my educated guess would lead me to believe that there's a big possibility of your Pastave has Chocolate in it.

    Here's my Pastave:http://img.tapatalk.com/d/14/05/04/padabagy.jpghttp://img.tapatalk.com/d/14/05/04/eba8e8u4.jpg
