    6-month BP at 190g?
Nigel, at 6 months, only weighs 190g. He eats Mondays and Thursdays, 1 weaned rat at each feeding. He eats very readily--we were concerned during his first couple of weeks with us, but once he got comfy, he's been eating like a champ. Is his weight unusual, or is he possibly just on the smaller side?

    He certainly doesn't look underfed:

As you can see, he's nice and round, with good tail and neck definition. And he's never aggressive or snappy, as some underfed reptiles can be. Should I be feeding him larger prey, or two rats per feeding?

Just for fun, here's a shot of his sweet face:

Could be he is just a smaller BP. And you are right he doesnt look to be skinny. The "look" is more important than the actual weight.

I have a guy like yours. He eats amazing and perfect size meals. He is 7 months old and weights about 225g (Maybe less because of poop). I think its just they are small. I could be wrong though.

Looks healthy to me as well. While I don't have a large collection to base my opinion on, I believe that some BP just stay smaller. I have a butter that is 1.5 years old and only weighs 653 grams. She has never refused a meal even while shedding. All my other females that eat regularly were around 1200 to 1500 grams at her age.

My 4 yr old girl stays around 750 to 850. Depending on size of meals. She just ate a large rat and is still only around 900 full. She's just a smaller BP. She's healthy and doesn't refuse any food even in shed.

It's kinda small. But if he looks healthy and is healthy that' all that matters.

Have you been tracking his weight? Do you know if he is gaining weight at all?

Just out of curiosity when you say "weaned rats" how big are they? Where I get them from, weaned rats are usually 30g to 40g. Eating two of those a week should pack on some weight for a 190g snake.

People tend to give numbers way too much importance it's about having a healthy well proportioned animal which you have in this case.

Don't worry about who has the biggest BP at what age, keep feeding and enjoy seeing your baby grow.

He looks great to me honestly. Great shape to the body and all of that fun stuff. If you get really worried you could take him in to get a fecal done but I personally would not because of how great he looks.
