    I cleaned Ramona's tank and soaked her, so I'm hoping that the mites are gone, if not on their way out. Is it safe to handle her? Can the mites start living on me if there are any left on her?

    I don't want to stop handling her during this time, but I certainly don't want mites.

    AS far as I know they are harmless to humans, but this was only what I was told.

    Reptile mites do not like humans. You may get a couple crawling on you ( depending on how bad your infestation is/was ), but they will not start living on you.
