Female body temp
I was just in the snake room checking on them and taking temps. All the temps seemed decent. The cool side was a little cooler than I'd like but not too bad, it is about 76-77 and hot spots are at 91-92. Most of the snakes body temps were almost spot on with whatever part of the tub that they were laying in, except for one female. She was in the middle of the tub were the temp was reading 84 and her body temp was reading 96. She has been breeding this year and lately she has been showing signs of building (bowl wrapping, laying inverted, etc.). So my question is, does building make the body temp rise? This is not something that I'm overly concerned about. I check my temps every time I go in the snake room and I've never seen this before. They are usually no warmer than the hottest part of the tub. Just something that I was curious about.

definitively. i mean, normally they dont do it, but they have ways to ramp up their body temperature. that this would happen when a female tries to make some eggs sounds plausible.
that being said, i dont know if this effect has been properly observed and described so far. it makes sense, but i never considered it this way. its an interesting observation.
next question: will all females that are building go up in body temperature? one way to find out: guys and girls, all the breeders out there, get your temp guns, and check female building BP temperature versus background temperature.
we might be on to something here. fascinating.

This was just something that peaked my interest when I noticed it. I don't have a lot of experience breeding. I had 1 clutch in 2012, but I didn't have a temp gun then to check the female. I do have 3 more females breeding this year though so I will have to pay more attention when they start showing some building behaviors.

My girls that I've been pairing since July temp gun at 79.9 to 80.1 everyone else are around 82-84. I keep my ambient temps 78-80 and hot spot of 90.
