When sexing your snake...?

I had a reputable breeder (Scott, Family Reptiles), show me how to "pop" my snakes to check their sex. I also watched several videos on YouTube to make sure I was using the proper technique. It took a little bit of doing to get the feel for it. I think my problem may have been I was trying to be too gentle. However, I successfully sexed my normal ball python (male) after a little bit of work.

My question after all of this: Is it common for the snake to pass a urate/pee on me while popping it? I want to make sure that I didn't inadvertently hurt him.

It can happen. They usually pee on you when stressed.

I'd say it's fairly common for a little urine to come out from time to time.
