End to Monty's hunger strike!
It's been 3-4 weeks since Monty last ate. I know this is normal, but since this is my first go with snakes, it's still unnerving. He lost some weight & I was getting anxious.
In those weeks, I tried his a small live rat, large live mice, and f/t small rats. He seemed afraid of the live after a bad strike on a feisty rat & uninterested in f/t.
So today I went to the local feed store to pick up a mouse & give it another try, but they were out & don't carry f/t. All they had was a small African Soft Fur rat. After playing cat & mouse with it for a good 15 minutes, he went into his hide & I thought he had given up. The rat came sniffing around the opening & BAM! He's chowing down as we speak & I'm relieved. I just hope he isn't hooked on them now. :):

Always a great feeling when they beak a hunger strike. It is nerve racking at first, but if you have them for a while you will get used to it and worry less.

Just wait until you have lots of snakes and you have to start keeping charts on those on hunger strikes. Then the nerves really kick in!
