Advice - Egg incubation tub size, setup and when to check the eggs.

This is my first year breeding and wanted some tips/confirmation in terms of size and setup.

I'll be using a 9l Rub, internal dimension are: 13x8x5 inches.
As for setup i'll be using hatchrite as media, with one 1/8th inch hole at the end of the rub.
One last thing, everybody seems to have a different opinion but do you have to check the eggs regularly, by that i mean open the box and see how they're doing. If so how often?
