Touching herps when you gave a cold

I've had a cold for a few days now and I'm too worried to touch my herps. Can sickness from a human go into a reptile and make them sick too?

While there are human illnesses that can transfer to pets, I do not believe snakes or reptiles to be in that group. As always, wash your hands before and after handling.

As stated Always wash your hands before and after. Its a question are you safe to handle the snake your body is all ready fighting off a cold it suck if you got sick with something else due to your system all ready fighting off one cold.
