    Just my rant..............
There have been so many new members with all the usual "help me" threads.............................
I know there are a lot of member here that will go out of their way to help new keepers.
That being said: Why is it so hard for people to list their location?? We don't need your gps cords BUT a city would be nice!!
Then you might actually find someone local to you that can give you hands on help.
Maybe its just me getting older but we all have some brain cells left while others don't seem to want to use them. :confusd:

I totally agree with you, but there seem to be a paranoia of some sort with even listing a city and state, like someone will suddenely find your home just by that. Which is dumb as I believe anyone could darn near find someons exact location by tracking your ip address anyway, but I may be wrong on that. It would also help to know because the advise on humidity might be different for somone in, say, Louisiana as opposed to Michigan in winter.

As a general concept I agree, although I must admit that I'm a bit paranoid to reveal my exact location because I have neighbours who love to complain and I have had run-ins with Animal Control in the past because of it. They happened to see my son outside with his BP and OMG suddenly we are a crazy family with 100's of snakes that put their lives in danger. I live in a wonderful reptile-loving community ( sarcasm) where they just declared RTBs illegal because they MIGHT grow to a length of 3m - OK so I guess you know where I am now - , and where they have a totally arbitrary limit of 4 pets per household (yes, that includes any combination of dogs, cats, snakes, mice, goldfish, etc.).

Herp Hugger that is by your choice though. Most of my neighbors have no clue what the back room holds because i dont advertise to them. However i am the crazy guy cleaning my guns on the front porch. I guess thats why the cops got called when i sopd my last clutch. It was called in as drug deals going on because there was a lot of traffic at my house and i have guns. You know how funny it is to watch them watch me shoot the bull with the officers while my gun was exposed on my hip?
Then again all the pitbulls i have had through my place over the years probably doesnt help either. LoL

Understood. My collection has shrunk considerably, but needless to say that snakes don't go outside anymore!

If people realized the kind of data being collected all the time and how loose the security is on that information, they would probably walk around with their license and social security card taped to their foreheads.

I agree completely about the location - at least give a region "Northeast USA"

I'm curious as to where you live in S. Ont. I've never heard of this weird 4 pets per household deal before.

Thanks, I'm glad that I wasn't the only one thinking that.

BTW I am absurdly easy to find. Privacy? Mmmmmm yeah I have none.

I agree. I got my rats from someone on here simply because she noticed we lived in the same city. If I hadn't had my city listed, I wouldn't have gotten as good of stock, and I would have been using the biting rats from the feeder bin.

It'll also help when telling people to buy supplies, some places have different stores and brands than others.

I wish people would give more information when they're asking a question, period.

Like instead of saying "temps and humidity are fine" can you please tell us the real numbers, or at least admit you don't know what the temps and humidity are. You're here to get help, not to prove to us that you are taking good care of your snake. It'd much easier if you're truthful about the mistakes you made; everyone makes mistakes, that's how we learn.
