    Question about purchases at shows
Ive bought 1 snake at a pet store and the rest ive purchased online (another one was picked up at a show but everything was done online). When i deal with breeders its with email or txts which means everything is on record. My question is how do you guys deal with somebody at a show? If you pay cash there is technically no evidence of you even talking to that breeder. Do you make them send you a txt or email acknowledging your deal or how does it work?

They should have hand receipts to fill out, just make sure to ask for one and don't lose it

Only speaking for myself how I do things...I don't normally give a receipt with every sale, you normally would get a feeding card and a business card from me. I do carry a receipt book with me though and am happy to fill one out for anyone who needs or wants one. If it's a square payment, then I always ask the buyer for their email addy to send them a digital receipt, or can send it to their cell phone if they'd prefer.

If the breeder is a bona-fide business he should be charging sales tax and you should get a receipt. A hobbyist will likely be cash & carry, though you may get a hand receipt.

Yep, this. Some shows will even require each buyer to leave with a receipt. Really, unless you're in state that doesn't have a sales tax, expect it.

It's good to get all that stuff, anyway. For me, I always write down who I purchase snakes from, along with the date and all their info, save their card, etc. But I can get kinda crazy with records. If someone isn't willing to provide contact info and follow up . . . walk away . . .
