    Buying an enclosure
My girlfriend has a corn snake living in a 10gal that we modified into a sliding front-door setup.

It's a nice little setup, but it could be a bit more visually appealing, and will eventually need to be upgraded to something larger.

She's got a birthday coming, so I thought getting her a proper enclosure would be a nice surprise.

Her only preference is for doors on the front (sliding, swing, doesn't really matter what kind, as long as it's front-opening).

She's not using a heat lamp.

Wondering if anyone could give any good recommendations. I'm looking to spend up to $200.

I've also thought about scratch-building something but I have not figured out a simple and visually attractive way to work the doors. Perhaps someone's seen some good DIY's they'd be willing to share?

    Thanks and much appreciated.

Animal Plastics is the way to go :) Or, if you don't like the look of the PVC enclosures, Exo Terra may have something more visually appealing for you.

I have my corn in a Vision Cage (model 322), but I think it retails at $275, I grabbed mine used so it was cheaper, but you could go with an animal plastics T8. I know that is a bit large, but my corn is pretty active and uses every inch of his enclosures. If you went the DIY route I would think you could find a metal sliding track and have some glass panels cut for the doors.

Does AP ship to Canada? I can't find it on their site :)

    Hmm...
    I got mine from pvccages.com.
It is a 4x2x1.5 though, with a divider. It was $240 after box day, but if you go on Kijiji there should be a distributor in your area that will give you a much better deal - that's how I got mine!
You should be able to have the corn as an adult in a 2x2x1 (which should cost you under $200 easy).

    Best of luck!

I was at petsmart the other week and saw the exo terra "low" terraniums. You might like them.

Well, I looked around and decided to build it myself. The price difference is significant enough... Plus we'd get a bigger enclosure with more flexibility. And of course a custom built tank will need a custom built stand... Heck, if I'm building a stand I might as well put shelving... Well I guess in that case it might as well be a new rack for the large tubs... AAAAAAAAND this is how it starts.

    Thanks for the suggestions though!
